If you’ve been thinking about hunting Sitka blacktail deer next year, now is the time to book your trip and buy your hunting license and locking tags! Starting Jan. 1 2017, all non-resident tag fees will double in cost. The good news is if you buy your 2017 hunting license and tags by Dec. 31 2016, you can buy them at the lower price. With the price increase a deer tag will increase from $150 to $300. The cost of hunting licences will also increase with an annual non-resident hunting license increasing from $85 to $160. So if you’ve wanted to hunt blacktail deer, booking your trip and buying your licenses and tags before Dec. 31 will save you money. You can also buy your 2018 hunting license at the lower cost if you know you will be hunting in Alaska then. If you’ve drawn a black bear tag, be sure to buy that before the price increase too. You can buy your licenses and locking tags on the Alaska Fish and Game website. Email us or give us a call about our hunting packages and availability. We’re also happy to answer any other questions you may have!
